This is a win-win situation. Workers in New Mexico can have a more relaxed workday by borrowing a kitty from the “library” and the kitties have a chance to find a forever home.
The local government employees of Doña Ana County in Las Cruces, New Mexico, can visit their “Kitty Kondo” or “library” (as the employees have nicknamed it) and select a kitty to keep them company at their desk.
One of the employees, Tiffany Tillison, posted a photo of this “library” to Reddit and it quickly became an Internet sensation. According to Tiffany, the county’s head of public relations had the idea of bringing cats from a local animal shelter and letting county employees play with them. So, the Animal Care Center of Mesilla Valley brings over these cute cats that can be adopted.
So, in addition to being a fun experience for the employees, the project also helps the cats find a forever home.
Have you ever heard of this project or do you know about other similar projects?
