The life and work of Rosina Wachtmeister, an artist who has found the perfect model for her works in the cat!
Rosina Wachtmeister is a painter and sculptor who was born on January 7th, 1939 in Vienna, Austria. When she was still young, her family moved to a small village near Rome. She belongs to a large family that has a lot of animals.
When Rosina was 14, she immigrated to Brazil with her family. She studied fine arts, sculpture, and stage design in Porto Alegre. In 1967, she returned to Italy. Upon her return to Italy, she exhibited her paintings at the Piazza Navona. She then gained popularity, and her artwork became known to many people.
In 1998 she began working for Goebel as a designer. Nowadays, she sells her art in her shop and online. Her favorite subject is cats, and many of her paintings and sculptures have images of them – they all feature a distinctive head shaped like a moon.
