2017 was the year I finally found the courage to publish my first book!
However the path was not strewn with roses. I soon found out that being a self-published author is a lonely business and that most websites and magazines will simply ignore your e-mails trying to promote your book. I read a lot about book marketing and promotion and I think I tried almost every strategy that other self-published authors recommend.
On most months the book sold about 20 copies through Amazon. One month it reached 120 sales and I was ecstatic… but then it dropped to 20 copies again.
Finally this month the book finally started to get traction in the charts and it’s getting close to 2.000 copies sold! On its best day it reached #12 in Cats, Dogs & Animal Humor.
The Holiday season is truly magical 🙂
Three months ago I had started working on a new book but I was feeling a bit discouraged and even thinking if it was worth all the work I was putting into it. Now I’m feeling really motivated again and I’m starting to believe that this might work, that people might want to buy my books and enjoy reading them.
I couldn’t finish this post without thanking you, my loyal readers and fellow bloggers, for your support and for keep on reading my blog even though I’ve been publishing a lot less. The main reason is that I’ve been focusing on promoting my book while I’ve also been working on the second one.
Thank you for keep coming back!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
